Mexico City, July 31st, 2019. The Keralty Business Group, to which companies such as Colsanitas, Sanitas EPS and Colsanitas Clinic belong in Colombia, established an alliance with the insurer AXA to provide private health services in Mexico for over 100,000 people during its first year.

The agreement, which includes a joint investment of US$ 120 million and the construction and operation of 50 Medical Centers in that country before 2024, is part of the internationalization process of the leading healthcare company in Colombia, which already has a presence in countries like the United States, Peru, the Philippines and Brazil.

This alliance foresees that, during the first year of operation, AXA Keralty will offer first contact medical care for over 100,000 users in general medicine, pediatrics and gynecology, as well as consultations of specialties in orthopedics, urology, dermatology and general surgery, among others.

The health system outlook in Mexico is challenging, because according to the OECD, in this area our country has out-of-pocket spending that corresponds to 45% of health related spendings, the second highest among the members of this organization. In addition, only 9 million Mexicans have the financial capacity to face private health treatment through major medical insurance.

For Alejandro Pérez Galindo, General Director of Axa Keralty in Mexico, "this alliance constitutes a very important step for our expansion process in Mexico. We have extensive experience in health insurance in countries such as Colombia and the United States, and with AXA we find the perfect ally to enhance a service that is in high demand in this country. "

As part of this alliance, the Altavista Medical Attention Center was inaugurated in Mexico City on July 17, the first of five that will be built in Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area during 2019.
